SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS
The aims of the scholarships and awards are to enable young people from both countries to study or take part in cultural exchange programmes in the United Kingdom and Sweden. In addition, smaller grants are sometimes made to exceptional one-off cultural projects. Some examples are given in the annual reports.
MUSIC: This is an annual award to help with tuition fees for Swedes undertaking post graduate training at the Guildhall School of Music and Dramain London. Applications are made directly to the School which recommends up to three students. Read the GSMD 2009 update.
VISUAL ARTS: This is an exchange programme between the Royal College of Art in London and Konstfack (University College of Arts, Crafts and Design) in Stockholm, focused on students in the ceramics and glass departments.
CULINARY ART: This is an award which was established in 2005 in association with the Restaurant School at Nyköping, Sweden, to enable students to gain experience by working in a UK restaurant or restaurant school.

Tim Hansson MengSwedish viola player who is being supported in his fourth year Bachelor of Music course at the the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Amanda SvartReceived financial support to allow her to stage her Degree Show at the University of Westminster to the acclaim of French Vogue and for her Women's Fashion MA show at the Royal College of Art.
Kira Phoenix K’inanGlass and ceramics student from the Royal College of Art in London, who has received support to spend 3 months at Konstfack in Spring 2016.
Mirja LeierthCeramic artist from Konstfack in Stockholm will receive support to spend spring 2016 at the Royal College of Art in London.
Clara TorstenssonCulinary scholar from Nyköpings Restaurangskola, was sponsored to spend 4 weeks in April 2016 at Heston Blumenthal’s world famous Fat Duck restaurant in Bray.
Angelika EklundAngelika Eklund has received support to study at the Musical Theatre Academy on a 2-year musical theatre course.
Jonas GrimåsAward winning Swedish film and television director who received support for the production of his book ‘THE FILM DIRECTOR PREPARES - Everything you need to know before you shout Action!!’
