Peter Berg and Professor David Goldsmith gave fascinating talks to members and guests of the society at Bucks Club. It was a joint event with the Society of Swedish Engineers in Great Britain. Professor Goldsmith spoke about Sir Thomas Telford (1757-1834), Britain's foremost pioneer engineer of roads, canals, and bridges, his strong link to Sweden through Count Baltzar von Platen (1766–1829), and their legacy project: 'Sveriges blå band' the Göta Kanal. Peter Berg spoke about Reinhold Rücker Angerstein - A Swedish Industrial Spy in 18th-century Britain. We are grateful to David Goldsmith and Peter Berg for so generously giving up their time.
