John Petrie OBE, Windsor Herald at the College of Arms, hosted a talk and supper at the College of Arms in the City of London. This is the corporation responsible for the granting of new coats of arms, genealogical research and the recording of pedigrees in England and Wales. The College is also the official body responsible for matters relating to the flying of flags on land, and it maintains the official registers of flags and other national symbols. Members and guests spent over an hour in the record room looking at medieval and later manuscripts, including successive grants of arms to Admiral Lord Nelson.
