The College of Arms, or Heralds’ College, is the royal corporation responsible for the granting of new coats of arms, genealogical research and the recording of pedigrees in England and Wales. The College is also the official body responsible for matters relating to the flying of flags on land, and it maintains the official registers of flags and other national symbols.

John Petrie OBE, Windsor Herald at the College of Arms, will speak about the history of heraldry and the role of the heralds, a little about the architecture of the building, and then spend a good hour in the record room showing a selection of records dating back to the fourteenth century.

Wine and supper will be served, and there will be a chance for members to mix and catch up.
