Goodworth Clatford Vineyard

26th June 2024 (11:45 - 15:00)
Goodworth Clatford Vineyard Manor Farm House Andover SP11 7HL

Cecilia (nee Rydström) and Mark Haszlakiewicz, have invited us to visit them at their boutique one acre vineyard in the ancient settlement of Goodworth Clatford in the Test Valley, Hampshire where they have lived for over twenty years.

In 2016 they planted traditional Champagne grapes, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in what was the old paddock. The first harvest took place in 2018 and the first bottles of sparkling wine were opened in 2021 to critical acclaim (including the award of a gold medal in an International wine competition).
Our tour, tasting and buffet lunch will include a glass of Goodworth on arrival, a walk amongst the vines when Mark will explain what happens in the vineyard over the year and how the sparkling wine is produced, followed by a comparative tasting of three of their 2019 blends, and a buffet lunch designed to complement those wines.

Cecilia was born in Sweden and has had the UK as her base for the past 50 years and is a long standing member of Anglo-Swedish Society.
More details of their project can be found on goodworthwine.com.

EVENTS

Events of interest to our members form an important part of the Anglo-Swedish Society's agenda. Some 12-15 are organized every year and highlighted in our newsletters, produced three times yearly. Although there is often an obvious Swedish connection, we take the view that members meeting up and getting to know each other is the key factor in these popular get-togethers. The events are often combined with a lunch, dinner or evening drinks. To apply for ticket, go to the Payment section.
