Sophia Jansson Talk

Sophia Jansson gave a heartfelt talk to members and guests of the society about her recently published autobiography ‘Three Islands, Father, Mother and Me’. Sophia is the chairman and majority shareholder of Moomin Characters Oy. She was also artistic director, until handing over to her son, James Zambra, in 2022. She is the daughter of the cartoonist Lars Jansson and the niece of Tove Jansson, the famous Finnish artist and creator of the Moomins. The three islands that are featured in Sophia Jansson's autobiography are Tonga, where the Jansson siblings wanted to move to in the 1940s, Ibiza, where Sophia lived in her early childhood, and the island in Pellinge, in the Borgå archipelago, where several generations of Janssons have lived.
