Abolition of Slavery Conference

The gala opening of the 3-day International 2015 Carl Bernhard Wadstrom Conference on Human Rights and the Abolition of Slavery was hosted by the Anglo-Swedish Society at the Mansion House. Alexander Malmaeus acted as moderator, Lord Mayor Locum Tenens Alderman Sir Roger Gifford spoke about slavery and the the City of London and Swedish Ambassador H E Nicola Clase about modern-day human rights. Keynote Speakers Professor Neil Kent gave a compelling history of the slave trade and its supposed abolition, and Mark Florman a description of the passing of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. SEE FACEBOOK
