Fine Art and Ceramic & Glass MA from the University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Konstfack. Lu received support to spend 3 months at the Royal College of Art in Spring 2008. Lu also holds a BA in Print Making from the the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing
London-based Zhou Lu has a wide range of education in fine art and design which has taken her from Beijing to Stockholm and finally to London where she eventually settled. Her works have sold at Sotheby’s in London, Gustavsberg Konsthall in Stockholm and many other galleries worldwide. She was also nominated for the Rosenthal Design Award, the prestigious Swedish Young Designer in 2006/2007, and has also been a winner of design awards from Germany to Taiwan. Her ceramic home accessories limited edition designs for Åhléns in Stockholm was sold out in less than 3 months time from the day it debuted.
After several years of travelling, designing and exhibiting, she decided to combine her design expertise and love of traditional craftsmanship to work with Timothy d’Offay as Postcard Teas’s creative director, and also with Peter Ting at Peter Ting Ltd as Head of Design, as well as being one of the founders of British tea lifestyle brand 1660 LONDON. She is also known for her design contributions to Chinese Elle Decor, Life Week and other Lifestyle design magazines.
In 2012 she was filmed together with Victoria Wood in her forthcoming BBC documentary about tea culture.
